The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt

TOC ushered in the New Year with a big bang as they have successfully organized the inaugural The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt over the weekend.

The 2-days event saw participants hunting for the “treasure” by answering simple questions and going through a series of game stations where they completed the fun-filled tasks.

This event served as a very unique way for the public, or participants in this case, to know more about us and what we have to offer. Besides, everyone knows and loves a treasure hunt.”

During The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt, our experienced counselors were on hand to share with all the participants the many career opportunities available in the automotive industry and view first hand some of the state-of-the-art software and equipments available such as the Dynojet, DEGEM AT-2000, Electude, engine simulators, Nissan Skyline, Subaru Impressa ver.8 STI and more. There were also simple demonstrations featuring Tyre Rotation, Engine Management Diagnosing, Wheel Balancing, Engine Power Balance and various others to give visitors and participants an insight of what its like to work in this industry.

All the participants who attended were very excited about The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt, as they now stood a chance to win different Sony products as prizes worth up to RM20,000 such as Sony Ericsson mobile phones and Sony PSP-3006 with two Grand Prizes, the latest Sony VAIO notebook. Moreover, the parents who joined in the fun could also walk away with skincare products hamper worth RM 360.

Besides, some of them had a chance to meet up close with Alex Yoong as he made special appearances during the event. Alex, TOC's official ambassador, shared his experiences and knowledge of the career prospects of the motorsports industry with the participants and parents.

Due to the overwhelming responses we received over the course of the two-day event, we have decided to extend The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt for another day.

The Great OTTO Treasure Hunt will run for another day on January 16, 2010 (Saturday) from 9am to 4pm. Swing by TOC on this day as this will be your last chance to win attractive prizes as well as enjoy the fun-filled event.

TOC Blogger Contest 2009

You are welcome to join this TOC Blogger Contest 2009!

There are only 3 requirements to enter this contest:
(i) All TOC students are eligible to enter
(ii) The blog entry must be about any past or upcoming TOC events eg. MME Race, Campus
Dodgeball League etc
(iii) The blog entry must be original. Any plagiarised entries found will be automatically
disqualified.

Four finalists will be chosen at the end of this contest, and each finalist will receives a set of goodies from AXLE Motorsport, the company run and manage by renowned figure, Alex Yoong.

Among these four finalists, two of whom has the most creative and inspiring entry will be chosen as the official blogger for TOC blog, get paid for every post and enjoy VIP privileges to all TOC events.

Judges will consider the following criteria:
(i) Does the post break news or offer in-depth coverage of major campus events?
(ii) What is the impact the post has on his or her campus? How can this be demonstrated?
(iii) Does the post demonstrate originality and creativity?
(iv) Photos, graphics, comics and other additional element to make the post interesting.

This means that your blog entry need not contain words only, you can include pictures, graphics, animation or even draw comic! It's all up to your creativity!

Alex Yoong's Talk @ TOC

It was an honour for TOC when Alex Yoong came to give a talk about the motorsport industry during OTTO Camp last week.

The talk titled "Career Opportunities in the Motorsport Industry", saw Alex Yoong sharing his experiences of being a race driver, the overall view and development of the motorsport industry in Malaysia and the jobs available in the field.

Visitors to the OTTO Camp got the chance to meet Alex Yoong in person and asked him some of the doubts and questions they have regarding the industry.

Currently, there are two TOC students who are fulfilling their internship stint at Alex Yoong's company, AXLE Motorsport Sdn Bhd, and Alex has been really impressed with their performance thus far. Bravo!
