TOC Champions!

It is really undeniable that there are many talented students in TOC.

From sports such as dodgeball, football and badminton to skills competition, so many hidden gems could be found among the students.

For example, the following guys are the champions for TOC Skills Olympics for different terms:

Wong Yat Heng - 2nd Term Champion. He is also the THREE times champion in the battle of all the Champions

Panchal Preshantkumar - 3rd Term Champion

Reynald Nelson King - 4th Term Champion

It takes alot of concentration and passion to be able to win this competition, so bravos guys! You all make TOC so proud!

Now let's move to sports area. Our students are really active in sports, and some of them really excel in these areas.

Remember the blog entry whereby Darrel was featured when he won the MVP award for Best Dodger in Dodgeball?

Now, we have another student who is in the dodgeball team as well, and he won the MVP award for Best Accurate Shooter!!

Wong Woei Han - Most Accurate Shooter

He is a very versatile player as he not only shoots well, but he is also very agile and therefore able to dodge the ball that comes from any angle and speed. If the writer's not mistaken, he's good in badminton too!

Again, congratulations to you two! Both of you make TOC so proud also!

The MAD Campus Dodgeball League has ended and although TOC Velocity Team did not win, this will be a real learning experience for all them and I'm sure they would bounce back stronger than ever!

Keep up the spirit guys!

TOC Student Wins MVP Award For Dodgeball

It was an honour when we received an SMS from the organizer of Campus Dodgeball League, informing us that one of our player won the Most Valuable Player - Best Dodger Award.

And this winner is.........DARREL KHAR!!

During the award presentation ceremony held at The Curve, I've managed to catch up with him and did an interview with him.

B: Blogger
D: Darrel

B: Darrel, congratulations for winning the Most Valuable Player - Best Dodger Award! So share with us, how do you feel in winning this award?
D: I feel really excited as I totally did not expect it at all. I think I still have rooms for improvement.

B: Is this your first time playing dodgeball? How long have you been playing this sport?

D: Yeah, this is my first time involving in this sport, and I've joined the dodgeball team for about 3 months now.

B: Wow, 3 months and you've already gotten the MVP award, so you must b really good in this.D: I won't say I'm really good, I think there are others who are stronger than me and I have alot more to learn.

B: So what got you into this game? What attracts you?
D: Oh, well, I was actually inspired by this movie called "Dodgeball: The True Underdog Story", where I was introduced to dodgeball for the first time. Since then, I was hooked.

B: Have you been very active in sports all along?
D: I was an athlete during secondary school, where I was the represent the state for long jump and high jump events.

B: Wow, that must be why now you have such agility and flexibility huh?
D: Yeah, i guess so..hehe

B: One last question, what are some of the advices that you would give to your classmates or youngster who are interested in dodgeball as well?
D: I would say that dodgeball is a very challenging game and it is not as easy as it seems. The game requires alot of strategies and teamwork. So those who wants to play must be really committed to the sport.

That's all from our dear Darrel. May our Team Velocity continues to keep up their fighting spirits and win more matches!

Inter-campus Dodgeball Competition

The inter-campus dodgeball tournament hits cineleisure @ the curve, and our very own TOC team was there to shake things up a little. It was a first for team TOC, or better known as "Team Velocity" as team leader Vincent informed. The team had taken part in minor dodgeball competitions before, and wanted to form a proper team as soon as they felt they were good enough.

MAD CAMPUS DODGEBALL LEAGUE FLYER

Dodgeball originated as a physical activity during PE lessons in school, but very quickly gained popularity as an actual sport, and it's now played in colleges around the world. In this case, Malaysia Association of Dodgeball (MAD) was responsible for bringing the mayhem. Slightly over 15 campuses took part in the sport, and the crowd it pulled with it was quite impressive.

TEAM VELOCITY MEETING THE OPPONENT TEAM

Team Velocity battled it out with Taylors, and put on a great show. Velocity had a mix in player abillities. Half of them were small and nimble, while the rest had a srong arm or two in shooting the opponents down. Each team was given five rounds to knock thier opponents out silly, Velocity and Taylors were tied at the final round with 4 to 4, and the battle only got hotter when only one player at each team remained till the very finish.

TEAM VELOCITY READY FOR THE GAME TO START

Very humbly, Velocity took the win for TOC in that round, and got a good start for the next tournament. It was also quite unexpected since they considered themselves a little unprepared in terms of practicing, so the team was extra estatic over the victory.

The crowd cheered, and the other campuses wowed. TOC will dominate the challengers once again in the next round.

WHO WILL WIN? TOC!!!
