TOC Brings Raya Cheers To All

It has been an annual tradition whereby TOC strives to celebrates all festive occasions with the staff and students. As the college has trainers and students coming from other countries to join the TOC community, these celebrations will be able to rope them in to understanding the different cultures and practices we have in Malaysia. Besides that, these celebrations serve as a platform for all to bask in the joyous atmosphere, and to interact with each other without the formality.

It is no different this year as TOC organized a Hari Raya Celebration recently. A simple 'makan-makan' session was put together by the Student Centre personnels during the students' break time in the morning and afternoon, where all staff and students were invited to join in.

Some pictures taken of that day:

Congratulations to CEO of TOC

It started with her passion of wanting to teach, to provide education to those who need it, to help empower people with the relevant knowledge and seeing them become successful after that.

It was through an unique opportunity that she came across the idea of setting up an automotive educational institution. But what convinced her to take up the opportunity was the negative stereotype people hold against automotive technicians, or more commonly refer to as mechanics.
Mechanics has never been the 1st choice of career options, as it has been associated as a dirty, greasy and low pay job. For many people, this is a job for those who is academically-challenged, that parents use this job position to warn their child of the consequences for not studying well.
But she believe in the otherwise. She believes the technicians are highly competent and skillful people who held very important responsibilies in what they do. Technicians cannot afford any mistakes, no matter how minor it is, as human lives are at stake.

With that, TOC was established to change the society's perception, and it was also set out to provide top notch automotive education to train those who have the passion to make a career of out of the booming automotive industry.

That was 6 years ago, and TOC has come a long way since then. From a mere 5 students and 10 staff for its first intake, now the college has close to 1300 students and 119 staff strength. The college thus far has churned out about 500 graduates, and true to its promise of a lifetime career placement, all of these graduates have been gainfully employed. This is possible through the college's strong network of approximately 1000 venue partners to provide practical training and employment opportunities to its students and graduates.

The person behind all these achievements, is no other than the CEO and Founder of TOC, Ms Adelaine Foo. Recently, she has been awarded as the winner for Junior Chamber International's (JCI) 2010 Creative Young Entrepreneur Award.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

You are an inspiration to many of us, and we hope you will continue to contribute to the revolution of the automotive industry, as well as being one of the lead examples for many of the female entrepreneurs out there.
