Revolution R

TOC is well known and also excels in having various societies and groups all within the walls and confinements of the campus. Tan Chin Heng (Alvin) from class 0711B has started a club of his own and he named it Revolution R. Revolution R is a club dedicated to helping people who have trouble with their vehicles and need information on how to enhance their vehicle performance.

Deepa-Raya Achievers Awards Night 2009

This special occasion was organized by the TOC committee together with the help of the student council. It was a mixture celebration for Deepavali, Hari Raya as well as TOC Achievers Awards Night.

Throughout the night, we were able to host and entertain the guests from the likes of TeleVAS, Lotus Team and Mad About Dodgeball Association, as well as staff from TOC, and we can proudly say that it was a night to remember.

To celebrate Deepavali, a 'Kolum' competition was held and it was open to all TOC staff to participate. All the participants tried their very best to produce the most creative 'kolum' art pieces.

The Achievers Awards has been an annual event where TOC gives recognition to students for their achievements, regardless it's in sports, academic or skills areas. On that night, there were 3 awards categories: TOC Sports Awards, Motorsports Sports Awards and TOC Skills Olympics Awards.

We have also invited 2 orphanages to join us that night. Persatuan Anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kg Medan sang their hearts out for us,
whereas Shepherd’s Home children did a very nice dance routine.
We also a performance of our own and it was out of this world as it was a combination of 2 cultures together , namely rapping and malay culture.
I can proudly say that this night was a great success and the next one is going to be even better.

A First For TOC

TOC students and the automotive industry experts are no stranger to the word "skills competition".

Skills competition test the participants' knowledge, problem solving ability as well as technical skills related to servicing and maintenance of a car. They will be tested on various areas of the car and different models will be used as the subject.

This year, TOC embraces a new challenge by organizing the first TOC Skills Olympics 2009!

The competition is open to all service center and educational institutions, and each company is allowed to nominate a maximun of 2 participants for this competition.

It will be an interesting event to look out for as it will help to promote healthy competition between students and technicians, increase esprit de corps and camaraderie spirits. It will also serve as a platform for the participants to exchange and share knowledge and skills.

The Technical Commitee

The prizes for the competition is very attractive, the champion will walk away with RM5,000 cash prize, trophy, certificate, and also a plaque for the service center or educational institution he or she is attached to.

Registration for the competition is FREE and the deadline for submission of application form would be on November 11, 2009.

Supercars Gathering

In Malaysia, it is not that easy to spot supercars driving down the road everyday.

Students involved for this event

Therefore, it was a really rare opportunity for 40 TOC students and staff to witnessed 118 cars gathered at Bukit Tinggi for a time handicapped race. Cars the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus, Bentley, BMW, Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Lotus, Audi and many more were all there for the race!

>

Students were stationed at 4 major areas for duty: the starting and ending point, the 16 stations along the 8km race, as well as time attack zone. All these students had the chance to look at these gorgeous cars driving at their top speed.

On duty at starting point

One of the stations located in the 8km race

The time attack zone was where the cars were put to the real test. All these cars passed through a crowded obstables course and they were competing against time for this round. It was really interesting as some of the cars almost crash onto the tyre walls at one tight corner.

Punching in the finishing time at the finishing line

It was definitely a very different experience for these students as they get to enjoy the cool breeze, the beautiful scenery and different types of supercars while they were on duty.

Updates pt 1

TOC were in a buzz over the past 3 weeks as various events took place, and all of it involved students participation.

Let's start from the 1st event, which was the TOC Go-Kart Tournament 2009. This year a total of 43 TOC students participated in the race that was held at the Shah Alam Go Kart Circuit, and besides competing against friends and classmates, there was an element of surprise too.

TeleVAS Racing Team was there as well as they were scouting for potential drivers to join their go kart team. However, they are not only looking at the top speed or fastest time, they also want someone who can listen to instructions, who has the potential and will not drive recklessly. Therefore, the race was full on and everybody was trying their best to impress the judges.

The 3 TeleVAS judges in red

It was an amazing race between the students and staff, and although some face technical difficulties with their vehicle, fortunately everyone was driving safely and thus there was no accident.

TeleVAS team intended to select 1-3 students initially, after a long hour discussion after the race was over, they have finally announce that they are selecting 6 participants! Woo hoo!!

Congratulations!

A big thank you to all the committee members who put in so much effort and time in organizing this event!

The committee members!

Tips To Share #4

Automatik Lebih Praktikal

Penukaran minyak gear termasuk penapis seelok-eloknya dilakukan selepas 20, 000 hingga 30, 000 kilometer perjalanan.

Pemeriksaan minyak stering berkuasa pula sewajarnya dilakukan setiap satu bulan.

Jika pemilik kereta gear manual dinasihati menyelenggara cekera brek setiap 20, 000km, pengguna kereta automatik pula seharusnya berbuat demikian lebih awal, iaitu setiap 15, 000km.

TOC Champions!

It is really undeniable that there are many talented students in TOC.

From sports such as dodgeball, football and badminton to skills competition, so many hidden gems could be found among the students.

For example, the following guys are the champions for TOC Skills Olympics for different terms:

Wong Yat Heng - 2nd Term Champion. He is also the THREE times champion in the battle of all the Champions

Panchal Preshantkumar - 3rd Term Champion

Reynald Nelson King - 4th Term Champion

It takes alot of concentration and passion to be able to win this competition, so bravos guys! You all make TOC so proud!

Now let's move to sports area. Our students are really active in sports, and some of them really excel in these areas.

Remember the blog entry whereby Darrel was featured when he won the MVP award for Best Dodger in Dodgeball?

Now, we have another student who is in the dodgeball team as well, and he won the MVP award for Best Accurate Shooter!!

Wong Woei Han - Most Accurate Shooter

He is a very versatile player as he not only shoots well, but he is also very agile and therefore able to dodge the ball that comes from any angle and speed. If the writer's not mistaken, he's good in badminton too!

Again, congratulations to you two! Both of you make TOC so proud also!

The MAD Campus Dodgeball League has ended and although TOC Velocity Team did not win, this will be a real learning experience for all them and I'm sure they would bounce back stronger than ever!

Keep up the spirit guys!
